Meet the New Bolero MaXX Pik-Ups: Which Payload (1.3, 1.5 or 1.7 Tonnes) Is Right for Your Business?

Three bakkies, one badge and the only real decision is how much weight you need to move each day. The all-new Mahindra Bolero MaXX range offers three payloads – 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 tonnes. All built to carry business.
Picking the Right Payload
Choose from three configurations of the new Bolero MaXX, each made for a different payload:
MaXX City Pik-Up 1.3T: R199 000, 1.3-tonne payload, 2 500 mm-long load bin
MaXX City Pik-Up 1.5T: R229 000, 1.5-tonne payload, 2 640 mm-long load bin, add in aircon and ABS
MaXX Heavy Duty Pik-Up 1.7T: R259 000, 1.7-tonne payload, 3 050 mm-long load bin and 60-litre fuel tank
Which One Fits Your Business?
The new MaXX City 1.3T suits owner-drivers and small operators making several short trips a day, where compact dimensions and low running costs matter more than outright capacity. Fuel consumption sits at 5.92 L/100km, the lowest in the range. A 2 +1 seater cabin, power steering and rear parking sensors come standard, for those days when the hours are long and the demand is high.
The new MaXX City 1.5T sits in the middle ground, perfect for SMEs, tradesmen and small fleets that want more carrying confidence alongside comfort and safety. With ABS, aircon, a heater and a demister as standard, you get a practical balance of payload, usability and driver-focused features.
The new MaXX Heavy Duty 1.7T is the one to look at if your business simply cannot afford to make two trips when one will do. A 1.7-tonne payload puts it amongst the highest you'll find in a bakkie, and it's built for contractors, agricultural operators and businesses hauling heavier loads over longer, rougher routes.
Its 210 mm ground clearance and 60 kW | 220 Nm engine keep it working where the other two would struggle, whether that's a muddy farm road or a demanding site. It also carries the largest load bin in the range at 3 050 mm (L) x 1 800 mm (W) x 650 mm (H).
For a business that measures its day in tonnes moved rather than kilometres driven, that payload and bin size combination is what turns a bakkie into a production asset rather than just transport.
What They Have in Common
All three payloads run on the same 2.5-litre diesel engine and 5-speed manual gearbox, and all three can be driven on a standard Code B licence, so there's no special commercial licence needed to put one to work for your business.
Each payload also comes with a 4-year or 120 000 km warranty and roadside assistance, with an optional service plan for businesses that want maintenance costs locked in upfront.
Why Under R200 000 Matters
At R199 000, the MaXX City 1.3T puts a genuine workhorse bakkie within reach of small businesses and owner-drivers who'd otherwise be priced out.
It's an easily affordable entry point, with the 1.5T and the 1.7T there as options once the business needs more payload than the 1.3T can carry.
Bottom line: no matter how big or small your operation, there's a Bolero MaXX sized to fit.
